People commit crimes, some are petty crimes, and some deserve significant prison times.
Taleb Hussain is not some ordinary man, and he deserves the latter.
On the internet, especially on YouTube, he is known as the YouTube rap star "Lemz." On the streets, he is a gang member who previously involved in drug dealing and had been jailed as part of Operation Stalham, a crackdown on street dealers in Bedford in the UK.
At the time, 19 people were charged with drugs supply and firearms offences, resulting in total prison sentences of 54 years.
This time, he is again sentenced to prison.
Hussain gruesomely murdered a drug dealer named Przemyslaw Golimowski.
On the night of the murder, in September 2018 in Bedford, CCTV footage captured the gang of five men.
Hussain, along with four of his accomplices, is seen entering Golimowski's flat.
Upon entering the property, they quickly scout Golimowski whereabouts, in which they found fast asleep in the bedroom, with his girlfriend, Anna Swierczynska.
The assailants launched a surprised attack on Golimowski with a knife and a golf club, inflicting injuries.
Golimowski attempts to escape, but due to his injuries, his succumbed to his wounds.
The 30-year-old drug dealer died at the scene.
The attack was described as a revenge killing following a dispute between rival drug dealers.
It happened following an ongoing conflict within the drug trade.
A day before the murder, Mothersill, a known drug runner for Hussain and his accomplices, was attacked and robbed by Golimowski and and his men.
He was injured with a pool cue.
The police suggested that the attack and the murder of Golimowski is a retaliation.
In April 2019, Hussain was sentenced to a minimum of 26 years in prison for his role in the murder, along with his accomplices, Damien Rooney (25), Delpierro Mothersill (20), Philip Mendy (23), and Jamal Jeng (21), receiving various sentences.
Hussain, Rooney and Mothersill were convicted of murder at Luton Crown Court.
Each were jailed for life, and ordered to serve a minimum of 26 years.
Mendy, from Bedford, and Jeng, from Clapham, were convicted of manslaughter, and sentenced to 12 years each in prison.
"It is yet another example of toxic mix of drugs and knife crime in a town beset with such problems," said Judge Foster, when sentencing the men.
Officers were able to track down the five killers, thanks to the blood trail left by Jeng, who was stabbed in his leg during the killing.
And as for Hussain, he couldn't deny his wrongdoing after his blooded palm print was found at Golimowski's flat.
All five were captured together by CCTV at Wodka Live in St. Paul’s Square, less than two hours before the attack.
Also an automatic number plate recognition also captured a vehicle linked to Hussain driving around the town on multiple occasions.
Cameras also captured the men as they arrived at and fled from the scene.
Hussain is a well-known figure in the Birmingham rap scene.
He gained notoriety for his music videos on YouTube, where he often depicted a lavish lifestyle and referenced drug dealing.
For example, in his "On My Own" music video, which has amassed millions of views, the blinged-up Birmingham rapper is seen buying clothes from Selfridges and posing next to a £60,000 gold colored F83 BMW M4 convertible.
This case highlights the intersection of violent crime and social media fame, drawing significant media attention.
After he is caught and arrested, the public speculated that his history of crime, his involvement in drug trade, likely contributed to the lifestyle he depicted in his music, which ultimately led to his participation in the murder of Golimowski.
