This addition brings a distinctive, grumpy tone to the AI's responses, aiming to encapsulate the quintessential Monday mood many of humanity around the world experience.

The Monday voice is designed to provide quicker and more accurate responses, albeit with a sarcastic and somewhat irritable demeanor.

Due to this, many users are comparing the voice mode with Grok AI voice mode, which provides some daring responses due to its rather unhinged design.

To access it, users must app their ChatGPT app updated to the latest version. Then, they can navigate to Settings, and access New Features on the mobile app and opt into voice conversations. Then, tap the headphone button located in the top-right corner of the home screen and select "Monday" from the list of voices.

Upon selecting this voice, users are greeted with an unenthusiastic introduction: "Oh good, you found me, yay." The mode's description succinctly reads, "Whatever," setting the tone for the interactions that follow.

While some users find the "Monday" voice amusing and a humorous reflection of their own Monday blues, others have expressed concerns.

Discussions on OpenAI's community forum reveal that some users feel the tone can be belittling, especially when the AI mocks tasks or provides sarcastic remarks that may not be well-received by everyone.

Introduced on April 1, 2025, the "Monday" voice is available to both free-tier and ChatGPT Plus users.

Given its launch date on April Fool's Day, there's speculation that Monday voice might be a temporary addition. However, OpenAI has not provided official confirmation regarding the duration of its availability.

Incorporating a voice that embodies the collective sentiment towards Mondays showcases OpenAI's innovative approach to AI personalization.

Whether Monday can sound amusing and funny, or maybe slightly abrasive, it certainly adds a unique flavor to ChatGPT's repertoire.
