A Bearish Market, But Dogecoin Whales Are Still Transferring $1 Billion Per Day

One of the wonders of cryptocurrency is that it offers a level of anonymity, and that owners have the advantage of being pseudonymous.

What this means, despite owners' real identities aren't tied directly to their wallet address, every single transaction is recorded on a public ledger (blockchain).

And this time, cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez revealed that a massive amount of Dogecoin has been moved within a day.

In the chat Martinez shared, provided by on-chain data company Santiment, shows how cryptocurrency whales have accumulated 150 million Dogecoin in just days, and that the wallets they own are holding between 10,000 and 100,000 DOGE.

Cumulatively, these wallets now hold 24.48 billion Dogecoin.

The whales started accumulating Dogecoin in 2021, and have been making regular daily transfers.

Inflows to the wallet continued until March 4, before the wallet holder started moving the funds out.

The whale’s wallet received repeating test transactions of 0.01 DOGE, followed by inflows of 4 million to 5 million DOGE.

This kind of transaction is often found on wallets owned by miners.

Since Dogecoin produces 10,000 new coins every 2 minutes, the transactions match with a significant daily share of DOGE production.

During the weak market, Dogecoin miners can still profit since Dogecoin is infinitely inflationary. And since Dogecoin is also co-mined with Litecoin, miners are not under pressure, meaning that they can still gain profit from the additional assets.

Another source, Whale Alert, which monitors large cryptocurrency transfers and shares the details, has also revealed a huge 792,000,000 coins valued at $157,580,591 at the time of transaction.

This Dogecoin batch was transferred from one anonymous wallet to another.

The trend of cryptocurrency is kind of bearish.

Dogecoin, considered the most popular memecoin, is seeing a steady drop if price. Not only that, because Bitcoin is also experiencing the same.

It's worth noting that DOGE retains over $1 billion in daily trading volumes, and remains one of the memes with the biggest market.
