Politics and the entertainment industry don't go well together, because they serve different purposes.
Jelena Noura Hadid, or best known as Gigi Hadid, is an American model and a television personality. Born in 1995 in California, her father is American-Palestinian, and her mother is Dutch-American.
Despite having made her name as an American-born model, Gigi retains strong ties to her Middle East descent, in which she experienced what it was like living and growing up with a Palestinian family.
It's through her links to Palestine, that Gigi showed her support to the Palestinian cause, in the midst of the Hamas-Israel conflict that already killed thousands in just a few days of war.
And this apparently, didn't please Israel.
The relationship and situation between Israel and Palestinian's Hamas is always complex and volatile. Both sides have experienced engaging in military conflict, and that the two have been at each other's neck for years.
At every single moment, every day, there is a constant risk of renewed violence.
This time however, things have escalated to a different level, when Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip launched deadly barrage of attacks, consisting of thousands of rockets into the unsuspecting Israel. Hamas, which is considered an armed terror group, also infiltrated into Israel's land by land and sea, and also through the air using paragliders.
Multiple explosions and blasts were heard over Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and in southern Israel. Inside buildings and on the streets, people were killed.
This surprise attack angered Israel, and sent its officials into a fury.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his anger to X, the social media previously known as Twitter.
"Israel is at war," he said.
Netanyahu said that the war was "forced upon us in the most brutal and savage way," adding that the "Hamas will understand that by attacking us, they have made a mistake of historic proportions. We will exact a price that will be remembered by them and Israel’s other enemies for decades to come."
Netanyahu also referred to the Hamas as "savages" and "ISIS."
And Gigi Hadid here, poured gasoline to the fire, and sparked even more fury from Israel.
"There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians. Condemning the Israeli government is not antisemitic and supporting Palestinians is not supporting Hamas," she wrote on her Instagram account.
The Israeli government and many of its officials, are known to operate an active social media presence.
And this time, the government's Instagram account responded to Gigi, infuriated by her pro-Palestine post
"Have you been sleeping this past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes? Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you," the Israeli government said on its official Instagram account with a post that included an apparent image of a bloodied kids room with toys on the floor.
"If you don’t condemn this, your words mean nothing."
The official Instagram account of Israel, which has a few hundred thousand followers, even made the decision to take on Hadid with accusation of her antisemitism.
"There is nothing brave about Hamas' massacre of Israelis," the account posted.
"Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestine and supporting Israelis in their fight against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do."
The government of Israel also attacked Gigi Hadid on X.
When celebrities like @BellaHadid advocate for throwing Jews into the sea, they are advocating for the elimination of the Jewish State.
This shouldn't be an Israeli-Palestinian issue. This should be a human issue.

While government officials, and even government-ran social media accounts do occasionally respond to citizens' posts, and also address issues here and there, it's rather rare to see an official account of a government so infuriated by someone.
But this is social media, and everyone can have a word to say.
Gigi's fans and followers on social media quickly had her back, and slammed out a government account would go as far as singling Gigi out, describing it as a form of harassment.
" [...] This is cringeworthy behavior for any country, let alone one that is actively oppressing people," said one of her fans.
Other fans of Gigi welcomed her stance and made comparisons with how pro-Israeli celebrities have been treated.
In comparison, they compared how Gal Gadot, an Israeli, can unapologetically support only Israel but Gigi Hadid, a Palestinian, cannot support Palestine.

Gigi Hadid, was once named International Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council in 2016, and that throughout her career and public appearances, Gigi has been an activist for various causes.
Back in January 2017, after former U.S. President Donald Trump signed the "Muslim Ban" order, Hadid and her sister, Bella, protested among others in New York City.
Then in 2018, Gigi said that she would be working with UNICEF to help children around the world, and as promised, her first mission was visiting Bangladesh.
Besides participating in various charities, Gigi has also shown her support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
In 2022, she pledged to donate her earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to help Ukrainian victims of the Russian invasion and Palestinians.
Mohamed Hadid, father of Gigi and Bella, was born in 1948 in what is now Nazareth, Israel.
The Palestinian real-estate developer posted a graphic about the war that read: "There is nothing Jewish about the Israeli government's treatment of Palestinians."
He said that he firmly supports Palestine, even if doing so will make his career stop.
In the past, he has mentioned that he took it upon himself to make sure that each of his children understand and are proud of their Palestinian heritage.
A week after, Gigi's sister, Bella, wrote an open letter, written in a joint initiative with Oxfam America to represent a collective of artists encompassing musicians, actors, and other creatives who stand against Israel’s unrelenting military assault on Palestinians.
Among the notable figures endorsing the letter are Dua Lipa, Andrew Garfield, Macklemore, Diplo, Caroline Polachek, and Ben Affleck, who ambiguously declared that "all life is sacred," and that "the killing of Palestinian and Israeli civilians" is condemnable regardless of "faith or ethnicity."

The Palestinian-American model penned her name down in the open letter, which is addressed to U.S. President Joe Biden, calling for an end to Israel’s war on Gaza.
The shared the letter on Instagram, together in a carousel with the names of other signees from various creative fields.
"This is the most intense bombardment in the history of Gaza," she said, as she expressed her concerns about the humanitarian crisis affecting Palestinians.
"US White House National Security Council dangerously says Israel 'owes no-one any justification' and that it will have 'no red lines’. Innocent lives should always be justified in the name of humanity," she further added.
Bella reminded her followers about Israel’s complete telecommunications and electricity blackout in Gaza.
"Injured civilians currently can’t call ambulances. Medics are begging reporters to let them know where bombardments are happening, but reporters don’t know either because of the internet outage," she stated.
The model ended her short note, emphasizing the urgent need for intervention.
"The people of Gaza have nowhere to go. Children are dying. Please."
