Endoxon, a mapping company based in Switzerland, was was acquired by Google for $28 million in cash. Endoxon now provides the maps for European countries in Google Maps. It has created geo-mapping software since 1988. The company provided imagery for map.search.ch, a successful map service, and local.ch, a local search service - both limited to Switzerland.
Endoxon's technology called "blue", extends their products to the whole world. Blue is visualized information on the web, cleverly linking the world map server, the search engine and a GIS.
Its products included maps that have geo-referenced data with high-resolution aerial and satellite images for dynamic internet and mobile services.
