A 'Crazy' Man From Missouri, U.S., Sues Apple For $1 Trillion

The Cupertino-based Apple is the U.S. company known for its iPhone products and other expensive devices.

In the past, the company has faced a number of legal disputes, with some asking it for an insane amount of money. But this particular case overshadows everything that has happened so far.

Raevon Terrell Parker, an iPhone user from Missouri, sues Apple and demands a compensation of $1,000,000,000,000 due to an incident he experienced in an Apple Store.

That is one $1 trillion dollars, or roughly how much Apple is worth.

According to Parker, it all started when he wanted to have his iPhone repaired in an Apple Store back in 2018.

The lawsuit was filed at the U.S. District Court in East Missouri on 1 June, and was based on the Fifth Amendment to the Civil Code.

It was back in October 29, 2018, that Parker went to the Apple Store in the Saint Louis Galleria because his iPhone malfunctioned. The Apple Store employee said that Apple will fix his iPhone, but kept it by deceiving him knowing that it was the first phone to have "new features."

These "new features" were apparently being able to "bypass certain start-up load screen options", making the iPhone capable of communicating "faster and more accurately" with other devices.

Not only that, as Parker claimed that his original phone was swapped out for an old one with factory settings that required him to reset his passwords and download apps all over again.

Angered by this, then there was a dispute between Parker and an Apple Store 'Genius Bar' employee in which former was allegedly described as “crazy" by the latter.

It was suspected that Parker had installed a version of iOS that was not yet intended for the public and that in repairing the iPhone, an Apple employee had to remove that version.

The form indicates that no money in the world can make up what Parker has experienced because of this:

"The plaintiff is seeking $1 billion in damages. Because of hospitalization, travel, plight, humiliation, embarrassment, defamation, and reputational damage, I don't think the plaintiff can be compensated for calling him crazy.”

If successful, Parker would clearly become the richest man in the world, far beyond Jeff Bezos.

The Amazon CEO and founder is at this time a centibillionaire, and the richest person in the world with an estimated net worth of $113 billion.

Winning the case would make Parker hundreds of billions of dollars richer than Bezos.

It should be noted that this case isn’t the disgruntled iPhone user's first attempt at suing Apple. In the past, Parker unsuccessfully filed Apple in 2019.

In his over-the-top statement, Parker listed his mental health as “priceless.”

The lawsuits have so far been dismissed.
