For most people, the internet is a dangerous place to be.
Do something and make people notice, or have something that go viral, the internet will keep that digital footprint for literally forever. Many things on the internet are there not because they're meant to be there, and in a bad way, these have negative affects on people.
Many people fell as victims, experienced continued harassments and insecurity, as the internet continues to keep track of them with its endless list of information of everything uploaded to it.
The same goes with Teah Vincent from Gloucestershire, UK.
She was accused for having sex with a boy, who was only 14 at the time of act, on October 21, 2018. She admitted the act, which happened after she invited him and another of his friend to her home after a soccer game for "glasses or water."
While the older boy was left downstairs, Vincent took the younger boy upstairs to her room. She insisted that she thought the boy was 16, the legal age of consent in the UK.
“Ms Vincent then took the boy into her bedroom and told him to sit down on the bed. She left the room and reappeared a few moments later having removed her clothes,” the jury said
The mother-of-three told the Gloucester Crown Court that it was only after they finished having sex that the boy “panicked” and confessed his real age. After finishing, the boy quickly got dressed and fled downstairs. The alleged victim’s friend that was left downstairs said that "he’d heard sexual sounds coming down the stairs.”
She said that she was "angry" at him for pretending to be older than he was.
“I don’t deny we had sex. I didn’t force him, he happily responded on his own accord,” she said in the hearing. after investigators were told that Vincent appeared naked in front of the boy all of a sudden, and mounted him when he had just expected to play video games.
“I’m sure he told me he was 16 and I felt he looked much older,” she added.
Vincent was cleared after the court was told how the boy lied about his age before the act.
After getting away not guilty, Vincent said that she was “embarrassed” by this, saying that the case has wrecked her life, and destroys her chance of having an ideal career.
She said that she was too embarrassed to do anything.
“I feel hot-headed and emotional. I just want to put all my energy now into my children and look after them,” she added.
“I’ve got people on Facebook I’ve never met telling me I’m a bad mother and that is really upsetting because my kids are my world,” Vincent said.
Despite being cleared for any wrongdoing after just one hour and four minutes of jury deliberation, with her bursting into tears exiting the Gloucester Crown Court, she has indeed been bullied online since then.
"I’m getting abuse on Facebook like you wouldn’t believe. It’s all so hurtful and wrong."
People called her a child predator, and the internet named her a pedophile that managed to walk free.
“The fact is I’ve been acquitted by a jury and people need to respect that. It’s time for me to try and rebuild my life and just get on with it,” she said.
Usually, news like these will trail more news that put a bad affect on the subject. But Vincent here, aims to capitalize on her notoriety by selling her images and videos on OnlyFans, a platform dedicated to raunchy contents, that according to her post on Instagram.
“I’m thinking about doing an OnlyFans account. People already hate me, so not much to lose,” she said.
Through OnlyFans, she wishes to earn subscribers, where she can sell her acts with the millions of users.
It's through OnlyFans, the platform already popular among for sex workers, adult performers and others willing to do some saucy things, that Vincent wishes to earn income.
“It’s been a s—-y two year nightmare,” she wrote. “It was poor judgement on my side.”
Her attempt to commercialize her fame, started with a selfie of her showing her middle finger, with a link to OnlyFans in the caption.
"I want to get my side out and that will be through this website," she said on Instagram.
She said that she would start posting "lots" of content on her OnlyFans account once she has gained enough followers, who are going to pay for a fee to see her contents.
Responding to some people's questions, she said that: "I'm not getting into porn."
