Nudity in art is everywhere in the classical and Christian world, even in Churches.
The Sistine Chapel in the Vatican is already filled with such art. Crucifixes with a nude Jesus Christ have been sculpted, as well as paintings of the Blessed Virgin nursing Jesus, with one her breasts shown bared.
Christian literature, too, contains instances of nudity.
A model posing on a social media network however, cannot be considered nudity. But when a racy photo is receiving a 'Like' from the global leader of Catholicism, Pope Francis, it will definitely cause a fair amount of interest on the internet with many questions asked.
The Vatican has launched an inquiry into how Pope Francis’s official Instagram account can place a 'Like' in a racy photo of Brazilian model Natalia Garibotto wearing a short mini-skirt and lingerie, with her hair in pigtails.
Citing sources close to the Holy See, it is said that the Pope's social media accounts are managed by a team of employees.
And in this investigation is meant to determine how the 'Like' occurred.
“My mum may hate my ass pics but the Pope be double-tapping,” she said.
The Brazilian model, who’s also a Twitch streamer, is celebrating the pope’s supposed endorsement. Her management firm, COY Co., used the occasion to promote her worldwide as “going to heaven,” by also saying that the company “received the POPE’S OFFICIAL BLESSING thanks to our iconic queen," Garibotto.
27-year-old Garibotto also took it to Twitter, and wrote that: “Brb on my way to the Vatican” and “At least I’m going to heaven.”
It should be noted that neither account - the model or the Pope - follow each other, or has ever put a 'Like' of a post by the other.
Vatican officials reportedly did not comment on Garibotto's statement.
The 'Like' was quickly removed on 14 November after the accident received widespread publicity.
